Dan Lipps, founder/owner of Reel Events
Dan’s a Detroit native that traveled the country shooting for the Emmy-nominated Showstopper American Dance Championships competitions before he founded Reel Events in Myrtle Beach in 2010. The self-taught video maven produced or helped to produce 300-plus events in his tenure, including sports, dance, festivals and live events for the likes of CBS Sports and Raycom Sports.
Dan loves the thrill of live events and his passion lives in the work he does in our community to capture the best original content on film. Clients can’t enough of Dan’s attention to detail and his professional commitment to producing quality videos. That’s something he likes to pay forward to aspiring filmmakers, like the class he taught on video production at Coastal Carolina University.
Tommy Brady/executive producer
Tommy was born in Brewster, N.Y., but moved with his family to Myrtle Beach in 1988 when he was 2. He majored in digital communications at the Academy of Arts, Science and Technology and studied digital arts with a focus in video at Horry Georgetown Technical College. Before Reel Events, he worked for TV22 in Georgetown, TV33 in Myrtle Beach, Custom Multimedia Solutions, and performed as a pianist in Myrtle Beach for more than 10 years.
Tommy loves working in video and directing small projects. He’s not only known as a proficient videographer, music producer, editor, graphic designer and photographer, but he also builds custom computer systems in his leisure time. Creative arts is his passion, and Tommy feels his collaboration with Dan here at Reel Events is his true calling in life.
He also loves playing the role of a new father; he welcomed the birth of a son, Benjamin, in August 2015. He looks forward to a long career in media direction at Reel Events, where he can serve the community he loves.
